The Kavs are a four-piece from Adelaide’s western suburbs, formed in 2022, mixing funk, punk, psych and indie rock into something built for a hot afternoon. The influences they name run from Queens of the Stone Age to the Beastie Boys to Hendrix.
Since Marksenfest they have released a self-titled debut EP in 2024 and ‘Stay A Little While’ in 2025, and headlined near sold-out rooms at the Cranker, Jive and The Retreat in Melbourne.
At Marksenfest
The Kavs opened the main stage at Marksenfest 2023 on Saturday 7 October. The festival introduced them as the first band bringing it to the main stage, promising “a compelling energy that will have you dancing along”. Rum Jungle headlined, with The Max Headroom, Stormy-Lou and Maisie in between.
