Spacey Jane are an indie rock four-piece from Fremantle, Western Australia, and one of the biggest success stories in Australian guitar music of the last decade. Formed in 2016 around frontman Caleb Harper, the band is rounded out by Ashton Hardman-Le Cornu on guitar, Kieran Lama on drums and Peppa Lane on bass.
They built their reputation the old-fashioned way — relentless touring and a live show that turns a room of strangers into a singalong. Their debut EP ‘No Way to Treat an Animal’ arrived in 2017, carrying the platinum-certified ‘Feeding the Family’, and 2018’s ‘In the Slight’ sharpened the garage edges into something closer to the sound they’d become known for.
Debut album ‘Sunlight’ landed in 2020 and changed everything. ‘Booster Seat’ came in at number two in triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2020 and became one of those songs that follows a generation around. Second album ‘Here Comes Everybody’ followed in 2022, debuting at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart.
Since then they’ve taken the whole thing global — sold-out runs through the UK, Europe and North America, festival slots on both sides of the world, and a back catalogue that a crowd will shout back at them word for word.
At Marksenfest
Spacey Jane played Marksenfest on Sunday 13 October 2019, on a bill with Slowly Slowly, The Effends, Big Uncle Love Bus and Con Artist. They were eight months out from ‘Sunlight’ and a little over a year from ‘Booster Seat’ landing at number two in the Hottest 100. It remains the best “we had them first” story in the festival’s history, and the reason the alumni wall gets pointed at every year.
All-inclusive tickets to Marksenfest 2026 cover drinks, food and entertainment.
