Slowly Slowly are a Melbourne alternative rock band fronted by Ben Stewart, with Patrick Murphy on drums and Alex Quayle on bass. Formed in 2015, they write the kind of emotionally direct songs people end up with tattooed on them.
They arrived at Marksenfest with ‘St. Leonards’ behind them and ‘Jellyfish’ sitting at number 57 in that year’s Hottest 100. Everything since has charted top ten: ‘Race Car Blues’ at number seven in 2020, ‘Daisy Chain’ at number five in 2022 and ‘Forgiving Spree’ at number eight in 2025. They have supported Red Hot Chili Peppers and Amy Shark on Australian tours and played Splendour in the Grass, Good Things and Beyond the Valley.
At Marksenfest
Slowly Slowly topped the Marksenfest 2019 bill on Sunday 13 October, alongside The Effends, Big Uncle Love Bus, Con Artist and a then largely unknown Spacey Jane. The festival called it “our biggest and best lineup yet”, which turned out to be an understatement.
All-inclusive tickets to Marksenfest 2026 cover drinks, food and entertainment.
